2. Information We May Collect
The information we collect depends on the product or service you use.
Account information
When you sign in or create an account, we may receive information such as your name, email address, profile image, authentication provider, account identifier, and account creation or login information.
Where Google Sign-In or another identity provider is used, authentication is handled through that provider and Firebase Authentication or an equivalent authentication service. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Information you provide
You may provide information when you contact us, request support, submit feedback, create or edit content, upload documents, images, audio or other files, purchase a product or subscription, or participate in surveys, trials or promotions.
Product content
Certain KV Labs products may allow you to upload, create, process or store documents, text, images, audio, video or other content. The way this content is processed depends on the relevant product.
Some products may operate primarily or entirely on your device. Other products may transmit information to cloud services where necessary to provide requested functionality. We aim to make material differences between local and cloud processing clear within the relevant product or product documentation.
Payment information
If you purchase a paid product, payment processing may be provided by a third-party payment processor or merchant-of-record provider. We generally do not receive or store your full payment card number.
We may receive transaction-related information including customer name, billing email, country or region, product purchased, subscription status, amount paid, currency, payment status, and transaction or invoice identifier. The payment provider processes payment information under its own privacy policy and terms.
Technical and usage information
When you use our websites or online services, we may automatically receive limited technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages visited, approximate region, timestamps, application version, crash reports, and security or diagnostic information.
We may also use privacy-conscious analytics tools to understand how our websites and products are used.
3. Why We Process Personal Data
We may process personal data to provide our websites, applications and services; authenticate users; operate customer accounts; provide requested AI or software functionality; fulfil purchases and subscriptions; issue licences or entitlements; provide customer support; respond to questions and feedback; diagnose technical problems; prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents; maintain and improve our products; send important service-related communications; comply with legal and regulatory obligations; maintain accounting and transaction records; and enforce our agreements and protect our legal rights.
Where consent is legally required for particular processing, we will seek that consent.
4. AI Processing
Some KV Labs products include artificial-intelligence-assisted functionality. Depending on the product, information you submit may be processed locally on your device, transmitted to KV Labs infrastructure, or transmitted to a third-party AI or infrastructure provider for processing.
We will seek to identify material third-party or cloud processing in the relevant product documentation or interface.
KV Labs does not claim ownership over your input content merely because it is processed using an AI-enabled feature. You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload or submit content to the service.
You should not upload highly sensitive, confidential or regulated information unless the relevant product expressly states that it is designed to handle that category of information.
5. Children and Kids Reader
Some KV Labs products, particularly Kids Reader, are designed to help parents or guardians support children's learning.
Where required by applicable law, a parent or lawful guardian must provide or authorise the processing of a child's personal data. We intend Kids Reader to be used under the supervision of a parent, guardian, school or other responsible adult.
We do not knowingly seek to use children's personal data for behavioural advertising. Where reasonably possible, we design child-oriented functionality to minimise unnecessary collection of personal data.
If you believe that a child's personal information has been collected without appropriate authorisation, please contact us at [privacy email] and we will investigate the matter.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our websites may use cookies, browser storage or similar technologies for authentication, security, remembering preferences, essential website functionality, measuring website performance, and analytics.
Where legally required, non-essential cookies or similar tracking technologies will be used only after obtaining appropriate consent. We do not intend to sell personal information to advertisers.
7. Third-Party Service Providers
We may use service providers to operate KV Labs. These may include providers of hosting and cloud infrastructure, Firebase and Google services, authentication, data storage, analytics, error monitoring, email delivery, customer support, artificial intelligence, payment processing, and merchant-of-record services.
These providers may process information on our behalf or, in some circumstances, as independent data controllers/data fiduciaries under their own terms. We aim to disclose material third-party processing where it is relevant to your use of a product.
8. International Data Processing
Our service providers may operate infrastructure in countries other than India. Accordingly, information may be processed or stored outside your country of residence.
Where cross-border processing is subject to legal requirements or restrictions, we will take reasonable measures intended to comply with applicable law.
9. Data Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including providing a service, maintaining an account, completing transactions, resolving disputes, preventing fraud, maintaining security, and meeting tax, accounting and legal obligations.
Where information is no longer reasonably required, we may delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it, subject to applicable legal requirements and technical limitations such as temporary backups.
10. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information. Measures may include encrypted network communications, authentication, access controls, restricted administrative privileges, security rules, logging, backups, and vendor security controls.
However, no online or electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your Rights
Depending on the laws applicable to you, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including rights to obtain information about processing; request correction, completion or updating; request deletion or erasure where applicable; withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; raise a grievance; and exercise other rights provided by applicable law.
Requests may be sent to [privacy@kvlaborg.com]. We may need to verify your identity before acting on certain requests. Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing that was lawfully carried out before withdrawal.
12. Account Deletion
Where a product provides a registered user account, users may request account deletion through the relevant product, where available, or by contacting [support/privacy email].
Certain information may be retained where reasonably necessary or legally required, including transaction, tax, fraud-prevention or dispute records.
13. Marketing Communications
If we send optional marketing communications, you may unsubscribe using the method included in the communication or by contacting us. Service messages necessary for the operation, security or administration of your account may still be sent.
14. Links to Other Websites
KV Labs products may link to websites or services operated by third parties. We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security or content of third-party services. You should review the privacy policies of services you choose to use.
15. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our products, practices or legal obligations change. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date and may provide additional notice where appropriate.
Your continued use of our services following an effective change is subject to the updated Privacy Policy, except where applicable law requires additional consent.
